In the beginning..

Well, here I am doing something that I never thought I would do. I have wanted to start podcasting and produce various forms of media for sometime, and I have had the good fortune of having all the things it took to not make that happen. Excuse after excuse, and lazy day after lazy day not doing something that I naturally enjoy. I love talking to people, and I love debating because I genuinely want to learn and grow. I have all the equipment I need to make this happen, I'm a workaholic, and I always ways of finding time (lack of sleep) to make things happen.

So Why The Holdup? 

I would say (and I think my mother would agree) that I have always been an inquisitive individual. I remember being about 4 years old, and asking my Mom, "why doesn't the devil ask forgiveness Mommy?". It was to this that my Mother did not have a response that satisfied my natural curiosity. Her answer was that the Devil was too proud to ask for forgiveness, and when I thought about it for a second I remember replying to her with a challenge "but Mommy it's been soooo long". 

I still think about that question, and it still bothers me. If you were to ask many in the Christian faith if they have doubts, the first inclination is to deny that they do. The second inclination you have after you realize you have doubts, is to try and bury them in forgetfulness by labeling them as unbelief, and focus on more positive things. This too does not work for me.

Let me be absolutely clear; I believe in God and Jesus Christ. Everything else to me, is up for debate. My sole belief structure is based around the simple theology that is encapsulated by the love of God, and an unbelievable amount of love towards other people.

So...

It is with this spirit in mind that I am starting RQ. I want to bring my love of people, inquisitive nature, and my love of  free-spirited religious and political debates, and put it out there and see if people vibe with it. It really has been a blast to finally produce something like this, and I believe that at some point you will have a good time :). I have a lot of really cool people on the guestlist that have agreed to come in, and finalized episodes for the coming weeks.
